Our distillery proudly hosts photovoltaic panels on the roof to deliver a green energy option to our distillation operations.

Thanks to the installation of a web connected Fronius Solar System, we receive live information on our energy
production and consumption at all times including converted CO2 savings

RECIRCULATION COMPOSTING

Botancial worm vermicast

We operate our own worm farms on site delivering a sustainable vermicompost bi-product from the botanical waste of our gin production.

Thousands of earthworms convert natural, biodegradable ingredients into nutrient-rich compost. This is then either returned to our gardens or sold as potager compost in our tasting room.

Roots Eco Gin is a bulk product offered exclusively to hospitality venues.

Delivering a large format, low waste packaging solution that allows refiling of previous bottles to prevent additional landfill.

Bottle labels made from 100% recycled bagasse (sugar cane pulp) and printed using organic ink.

Soft plastic upcycling

Proudly working with Future Post NZ to recycle our distillery soft plastic into brand new posts and fencing.

Future posts is an innovative NZ company with a Marlborough factory, producing recycled waste plastic products that are as strong as timber, won’t split, rot or crack and can be re-recycled so will last for generations.

Future Post is also proudly Bio-Gro certified for organic input.
